The Simpsons has been one of my favourites since the beginning of the
series. They´re totally sick and they reflect our society in a sarcastic
and sureness of judgement way. If you haven´t been infected with the Simpsons virus like I
have, then you´ve really missed out on something!
Here are the main characters in the series:
BART SIMPSON
Bart is not the brightest of kids. He hates school and tries to drive his principal insane
with his trickery. Bart loves to make noise and does anything to get attention.
Bart has a dog called Santas Little Helper and the dog is pretty much like
his master; not too bright!
HOMER SIMPSON
Homer is the father of this nutty family. He`s quite dumb actually but
totally unaware of it. He works at the local nuclear plant and his favourite
drink is Duff`s beer. Homer´s second home is Moe´s bar and he spends most
of his time and money there.
MARGE SIMPSON
Marge is the mother of the family. She´s the sensible one and she´s
constantly busy trying to keep the rest of her family out of trouble.
Marge is very romantic and she wishes that Homer would be a little more tender
and loving. Homer´s not good at showing appreciation for his wife and
Marge finds that very dissappointing.
LISA SIMPSON
Lisa is the smartest of them all. The only thing that shes´s got from
her father is his last name.
Lisa loves to play the saxophone and she does it very well. No one else
in the family appriciates when she starts playing indoors, but Lisa doesn´t
care.
Lisa wants to get closer to her father, but Homer´s too busy drinking beer
and hanging out at the local pub than paying attention to his children.
Bart and Lisa get along but most of the time they´re trying to play
tricks on each other.
MAGGIE SIMPSON
Maggie is the baby and she has only said one word in the series. She doesn´t
seem to learn any new ones and she´ll probably never grow up.
Maggie´s trademark is her dummy teat. That´s pretty much all that she does
in the series, sucks her dummy teat very loud. She´s the quiet observer
who never interfears except for one time when she accidently shot mr. Burns!
OTHER CHARACTERS
Mr. Burns is the richest and most vicious man in Springfield. He
owns the local nuclear plant where Homer works. Mr. Burns is very lonely
and the only one to keep him company is his assistent, Waylen Smihters. Smithers is secretly
in love with Mr. Burns (!) and that´s the only reason he stays with him,
I guess!
Moe owns the local pub, Homer´s second home. He serves lousy beer
and the service is pretty much the same as his beer. Moe doens´t seem
to have any kind of private life except for his pub. Bart loves to make
crank calls to the pub and Moe gets fooled every time. Example: Bart calls
and asks for Seymore Butts or I.M Fat and Moe asks if they´re in the pub
resulting in his customers laughing their pants off at Moe.
Apu runs the Kwik-E-Mart in Springfield. He´s from India and his
accent is very broad. The Kwik-E-Mart seems to be open around the clock
because Apu is always there when you need him!
GUEST APPEARANCES
Several celebrities has visited in Springfield over the years adding a personal
touch to the series with animated versions of themselves and their vocals.
A few of those who has been to Springfield are: Aerosmith, Tom Jones, Danny DeVito,
David Duchovny & Gillian Anderson (as agents Mulder & Scully of course!)
and Spinal Tap.
