David Eddings - The Elenium and The Tamuli

"Sparhawk, Pandion Knight and queen's Champion, returned to Elenia after ten years of exile, only to find his young Queen Ehlana trapped in a block of ensorcelled crystal. Only the great sorcery of Sephrenia, ageless instructor of magic, kept her alive - but the spell would last only a year, and its cost was tragically high.

Now a Prince Regent ruled Elenia, the puppet of Annias, ambitious Primate of the Church who planned to seize power over all the land.

As Sparhawk and Sephrenia set out to find a cure for Ehlana, Sephrenia revealed that there was only one person in the west who could defeat the evil plots against Ehlana. That person was Sparhawk." - Back page of The Diamond Throne, Del Rey.

These Books are very different from the Belgariad and the Malloreon. I think while the sagas of Belgarion is for the younger readers these are for adults!

Terry Goodkind - The Sword of Truth

" A sword of truth to destroy a Prince of lies!

Twilight has fallen upon the Three Kingdoms: a grey time that could foretell either dawn or descent into bitter night. Richard Cypher, woodsman and warrior, is chosen to bear the powerful Sword of Truth, but his enemy, Darken Rahl, is a royal mage who command arnies, hideous beasts and - more terrible by far - a twisted magic.

Terry Goodkind tells the compelling story of a magical world that mirrors our own, a world in wich goodness and honesty are besieged by the forces of darkness and deceit. Richard Cypher's odyssey is a journey of the outmost risk and uncertain reward for the sake of love. It's a journey into the darkness od the human soul.

An extraordinary adventure has begun. Join us in discovering where it will lead." - Back page of Wizard's First Rule, TOR fantasy

Robin Hobb - The Farseer

"Young Fitz is the bastard son of the noble Prince Chivalry, raised in the shadow of the royal court by his father's gruff stableman. He is treated as an outcast by all the royalty except the devious King Shrewd, who has him secretly tutored in the arts of the assassin. For in Fitz's blood runs the magic skill - and the darker knowledge of a child raised with the stables hounds and rejected by his family.

As barbarous raiders ravage the coasts, Fitz is growing to manhood. Soon he will face his first dangerous, soul-shattering mission. And though some regard him as a threat to the throne, he may just be the key to the survival of the kingdom." -Back page of the assassins apprentice, Bantam Books

Rober Jordan - The Wheel Of Time

"The wheel of time turns and ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the age that gave it birth returns again. In the third age, an age of prophecy, the world and time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the shadow." -Back page of the eye of the world, Orbit.

L.E Modesitt, Jr - The Recluce Saga

"Exile or a quest that might take his life...

"So where do I go?"

"You're sure?" asked Uncle Sardit, his mouth full.

"what choice is there? I either get plunked down on a boat to somewhere as an exile, knowing nothing, or I try to learn as much as I can before doing something that at least gives me some chance of making a decision."

"I think that's the right choice for you," said Aunt Elisabet, "but it is not quite that simple."

After finishing my bread and cheese in the strained atmosphere of the house, I went back to my quarters over the shop and began to pack. Uncle Sardit said he would keep the chair and the few other pieces until I returned.

He didn't mention the fact that few dangergelders returned. Neither did I"

2. The Towers Of Sunset

3. The Magic Engineer

Modesitt is easy to read, but one thing that makes the head spin is that the time axis order of the books are 6-2-3-4-1-5...But that makes in quite interesting!
