  • Dialing parameters and Call patterns - how to check if they are correct ?
    • The MC16 is a flexible machine here, and when you set it up for the first time it is easy to make errors in the settings, and in the way telephone numbers are entered.
An error will cause the MC16 to call another number than the one you think it is calling, and youīll never get conected to i.e. your internet provider.
    • Check this easily by entering your own home telephone number instead of the
internet providers number, and check if your phone rings when yor MC16 tries to make a call. If it does, you probably have the call settings right.
    • If you still canīt get conected to your internet provider, it is the remote networking settings that comes next on the trouble shooting agenda.
    • By the way, it is a good idea to make new remote networking conections by using the Ericsson program "MC16 Internet Set Up" that can be downloaded from Ericsson Mobile Internet Site  and the folder "Software / Mobile Internet".
  • Month at a glance - Nothing is shown on the display.
    • Month at a glance might sudenly stop working, you can start it, but it will only show an empty screen, this has hapened to me after Iīve installed the Ericsson software.
    • The solution is a bit embarrasing (for Ericsson), you have to download and install a patch called: "HP Month-At-A-Glance Plus Patch" from HP:s support site: http://www.hp.com/cposupport/prodhome/pt360lx.html   look for it in the folder "Software and drivers". Installing this patch solved the problem for me.
  • Pocket excel - chart drawing function canīt be found.
    • Well, the Microsoft guys claims this is no error, they havenīt included this function in pocket excel, they say...
    • The solution will cost you about 30$, there exist a program that performs the missing functions in pocket excel, and I must say it does it very nicely without any problems at all. The program is called AutoGraph and you can buy it from  Developer One.
    • A small word of caution though, about the delivery of the software. They distribute the program in a kind of locked software package which allso contains functions for creditcard payment over the internet. I had some problems to use these functions. Interestingly, the payment part worked well, but after charging me 30$, the program froze my PC and refused to unlock the software. However, their support people were very helpful and guided me through a procedure that outsmarted the safety program, and unlocked the package. The safe way here is to order the software delivered on a CD-rom I think.
  • bFax Pro (bSquare)
    • Fax send & receive software included with the MC16 package.
    • Unfortunately It removes the "+" prefix from telephone numbers when you mark people in the contacts register as fax receivers, and, you have to manualy replace all the "+" prefixes before sending the fax. ( "+" = universal international prefix for calls from cellular phones).
